This summer, Land Rover will be launching their 4th model in their luxury SUV segment, the 2017 Range Rover Velar. Sitting between the Evoque & the Range Rover Sport, it’s designed to give a refined, minimalistic style. Land Rover announced its launch in the build up to the Geneva Motor Show, giving visitors something to anticipate at the Swiss demonstration.
With 6 different petrol & diesel engines the Velar is expected to give superb performance, as you’d expect from a Range Rover. But with its lightweight aluminium structure and the new JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) Engines, it’s going to give a whole new level of luxury. Each version is expected to come with All-Wheel Drive and 8 Speed Automatic transmission.
Its external features will be much like the Range Rover, but with some sleek new features. It’ll have the slimmer headlight clusters with full LED lights, along with a smooth new body to give the most aerodynamic body yet. The 2,874mm long wheelbase gives plenty of internal space, with 632 litres of space in the boot for all your luggage.
Speaking of the interior, you can really see the elegant design Land Rover have gone for. A big talking point is the Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, with 2 stacked 10” Touchscreen HD Displays hidden behind a black panel until it’s switched on. It’s a first look at the new technology we can expect from Land Rover in the future with a completely new design. The internal material also impresses, with premium Kvadrat material along with Suedecloth inserts giving an exceptional feel and look in the cabin.
Safety is another key feature in the new Range Rover Velar. 6 Airbags, Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist and Electronic Traction Control (ETC) are just some of the features to keep you safe on your journey.
Trim versions haven’t been announced in Ireland yet, but you can expect a huge amount of options and accessories upon it’s launch in the 2017 Summer.
