Mazda CX-80 named safest large SUV by Euro NCAP 

The all-new Mazda CX-80 has been named Best in Class Large SUV by safety organisation Euro NCAP in its latest series of tests. This prestigious recognition underscores Mazda's commitment to safety and innovation.
In 2024, Euro NCAP tested a total of 44 cars, with the Mazda CX-80 emerging as the top 5 star performer in the Large SUV category. The new Mazda flagship model achieved an outstanding 92% score in Adult Occupancy, with full marks in both the Lateral and Rear Impact tests. It also scored an impressive 88% in Child Occupancy, ensuring the highest level of protection for younger passengers.
A very impressive score of 84% was achieved for Vulnerable Road Users, highlighting Mazda's dedication to pedestrian and cyclist safety. Additionally, the model achieved a 79% score in Safety Assist, demonstrating Mazda's commitment to equipping its vehicles with the latest advanced driver assistance systems.
The CX-80 beat off strong competition from other manufacturers, including the Audi Q6 e-tron which also achieved a 5 star rating, but failed to match the CX-80 on Adult Occupancy and Vulnerable Road User protection. The Skoda Kodiaq also achieved 5 stars but was several points behind the CX-80 in all categories. Meanwhile the Hyundai Santa Fe achieved a lower 4 star rating.
This recognition is a testament to Mazda's dedication to providing the highest level of safety for its customers. There is a choice of plug-in hybrid Skyactiv-G 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a 129kW electric motor, or Mazda’s advanced in-line six-cylinder 3.3-litre e-Skyactiv D diesel engine, with both all-wheel drive.
